It may not have been a grand affair but where two or three naturalistas are gathered, we don’t really need much to talk hair and that’s what the small number did. At Curls Nite Out, the promoter -Alison Biscette-Glasgow had hair on the cards but also she addressed how to keep that hair healthy and looking stylish by way of some necessary avenues.
The stylists were out in full effect and they talked styles, colour, care, management and protection.
Now if you say to your stylist ‘Marsala’ and she has no reaction or she says, ‘Who?’ Just get up and walk out the salon. Or at least that’s how I felt when Shawna Morgan of ShawnaRowena (image consultant) declared that the colour of the year 2015 is ‘Marsala’.
And don’t just take her word for it. It was the people over at Pantone Color Institute who determined this.
So, if your stylist does not know that Marsalla hair colour is the rage, and you want a colour done, find Morgana, at least she is the know and skilled.
Next up was a hair chameleon of sorts -Christian Natasha Gibbs of Krishtun. Well she said that she changes her hair almost weekly, and for those of us who living boring lives with one-look for a while, she was a breath of fresh air and now an individual who some of us will live through vicariously. Or again it may just be me. lol
Oh well, if you weren’t there then you can catch Krishtun’s twist out technique on your YouTube channel.

Another stylist was Khadija Trotman of Blvcallure and she shared a secret technique that had her business cards and contact info in high demand. Well… I sought her out with the stealth and determination of a lionness on a hunt, and I really don’t care if it was just me! But I doubt…Hmmm
Oh well what did she reveal? She spoke about doing crotchet braids using the underloop method to avoid persons seeing the knots. People were so awestruck, she did it twice so they could see the wonder again…I KNOW I WAS NOT
THE ONLY TRYING NOT TO BLINK during her presentation. lol
Natural hair all about versality and another choice offered to the ladies and gentlemen (few, veryyy few they may have been) was sisterlocs and brotherlocs by loctician sisters Lisa and Marcia of L&M Touch of Class
But taking care of her hair and not your body and health is just wrong. Hence, fitness was included in the running order and persons heard from Renee Chrichlow of REAC Fitness how to embrace exercise which excites them and which their bodies like. Makes no sense dreading exercise if you want to make it part of your routine. That is not to say, that when you embrace exercises you shouldn’t push yourself. So, go have fun while exercising, let it match your flow.
Now how will you buy the products, pay the stylists, pay the gym, pay for the equipment to ensure thriving hair, flawless styles and a healthy body without MONEY? No worries. Got problems saving? Living with debt? Dependent on one income?Melinda Belle of Astrape Finance had persons considering their finances, taking risks and she made a whole lot of sense or cents, either way it was valuable information!
And to bring the chic, polished look out even more, beyond amazing hair secured through good finances and a healthy body, there was a make-up artist their to top it all off.
And the pop-up booths held amazing items.
All in all the night was educational, fun and one of networking. If you missed Curls Nite Out – Summer Edition, be sure to try to catch the upcoming Cocktail event. Keep in contact with Promoter Alison Biscette-Glasgow.
